Today, one in four children is obese, putting them at increased risk of developing 糖尿病 和/或肥胖. 

然而, when children learn healthy eating 和 physical activity habits, rates of chronic disease (including 糖尿病) can fall by up to 25 percent as these children get older. School-和 family-based behavioral change programs can play a key role in changing lifestyles to improve health outcomes.

Each lesson consists of one video, one research summary, 和 one tip sheet for parents. Access to a variety of healthy recipes, 糖尿病 information, 和 more is also available. All videos 和 materials can be reviewed by participants at their own pace.

粉碎糖尿病 is a program that encourages middle school students 和 their families to develop healthy habits. The program includes a one-week curriculum 和 uses the movie Sugar Babies, a 40-minute documentary that explains the basic physiology of 糖尿病 to children 和 adolescents coping with 1型 和 2型糖尿病.

This program motivates 和 educates students on the importance of healthy lifestyle habits such as healthy eating 和 physical activity.

教师接受为期一周的课程,包括电影DVD. Each student participating in this program receives the film to share with family members.

Schools can also participate in an evening community film screening at their school (with a visit from the film maker) accompanied by a wellness health fair that includes healthy foods, 游戏, 健康检查.

We offer this program to middle schools/junior high schools in Utah, Idaho, 和 Arizona.

This program was custom-designed in partnership with key stakeholders to meet the needs of the participating schools.

食物运动, 和 You is a program that teaches homeless families healthy eating habits 和 creative ideas for improving food offerings in facilities that serve homeless families.

This program includes a 12-session interactive curriculum focused on:

  • 选择健康的食物.

The program also provides strategies for parents to help kids eat well along with healthy, 预算友好的食谱和食物品尝.
